How do I pay my bill?
The SBCWD billing is bimonthly, the due date is printed on the right hand portion
of your bill. Your payment should be mailed to the SBCWD at:
P.O. Box 245
Stinson Beach, CA 94970
along with the payment stub. You may also drop your
payment off at the District Office, located at 3785 Shoreline Highway, just North
of town. There is a mail slot to the left of the door.
When you receive your bill you will notice three separate charges:
1 - Water Use (WTR USE) - the tiered charge is based on water used during
the two month period indicated on the bill. Our system reads water usage in

How do I change my address?
When the customer wishes to change the billing address or listed ownership of a
property. The District requires signed documentation in order to protect the legal
owner.
Although the District offers the service of designating the tenant to receive the
bill, it is not recommended. The District recommends that the owner include an
appropriate amount in the rental fee to cover charges and continue to receive the
bill in order to monitor usage on the property.
Please contact the District to have the appropriate forms forwarded. There is a
$10.00 charge for more than one address change within a year.
How do I change service if I am a new owner?
Prior to escrow the District should be contacted so that a meter reading may be
taken on the appropriate day to determine charges to both parties. The new
owner should contact the District so that the appropriate forms may be forwarded
for signature. There is a $45.00 charge for ownership changes.
What is the permit process for obtaining water service to a new residence?
The customer initially pays a $100.00 fee in order to expedite the availability
determination process.
The District's wastewater engineer will then review the septic system plans and
District staff will review the current on-site water system and report to the owner.
The customer may then submit the water service application fee at which point
service will be installed and the billing process begins.
See the Permit Process Flow Chart for further clarification.
Why is the word "County" in the Stinson Beach County Water District's
name?
The SBCWD is a Special District governed by a five member Board of Directors.
The word "County" is in the name because the District was originally established
under the articles of the
State of California Water Code for County Water Districts (specifically,
§ 31145-31149
).
